COLTSTAR EXPANDS LARGE GOLD ANOMALY IN ITALY, ANNOUNCES PRIVATE PLACEMENT
April 7, 2010 TSX Venture Exchange Canadian Trading Symbol: CTR
Coltstar Ventures Inc. ("Coltstar"), announces that a recent silt sampling campaign has expanded a large, gold-in-silt anomaly on its Torniella Property in central Italy. This anomaly exhibits very high gold values (greater than 1,000 ppb) in a setting similar to that of high-sulphidation gold mines in Latin America, such as Pierina, Yanacocha, Pasqua-Lama and Fruta-del-Norte.
Torniella Property Update
The Torniella exploration permits, covering a surface area of 2,130 hectares, is located 110 kilometres north-west of Rome in an area which hosts significant mining activity, including more than 500 quarries.
The geological setting of the Torniella area is dominated by a belt of Pliocene rhyolitic rocks deposited in a graben/pull-apart trough structure 7 kilometres long and up to 3 kilometres wide. Four kaolinite-alunite quarries are present over a distance of 500 metres on the northwestern margin of the fault block. Kaolinite and alunite are important alteration component in comparable high-sulphidation gold deposits. Pervasive silicification, thin chalcedonic quartz veinlets, stringers, brecciation and sulphide mineralization are present in the kaolinite-alunite quarries.
Damien Reynolds, President of Coltstar, said; "The discovery of such a large gold-in-silt anomaly is very encouraging – as noted in the table below, there are interesting comparisons to other gold deposits elsewhere in the world. Future work will be designed to locate the source of this anomaly."

Note: there is no certainty that similar style and size of deposit will be found on the Company’s property.
Thirty-four silt samples were collected during previous exploration programs. Twelve samples returned values greater than 100 ppb gold with the highest being 10,254 ppb Au. Six of the silt samples with greater than 1,000 ppb gold were obtained from two stream drainages near the kaolinite-alunite quarries.
As part of a larger recent survey, six silt samples where collected in the northern part of the property. Five of the samples returned background values but one sample gathered near the kaolinite-alunite quarries returned 9,126 ppb gold. This sample was obtained from a tributary of a gold-bearing stream and expanded the anomalous basin by 200 metres, to a total area of 5 square kilometres.
The silt samples were delivered to ALS Chemex Laboratory (accredited to the ISO 9001 standard) in Vancouver, British Columbia. The analytical procedure involves digesting 0.500 grams of the sample pulp for 2 hours at 95°C with a 3:1 H3CI:HNO mixture. After cooling, the sample is diluted to 25mL with deionized water. The solutions are analyzed by Inductively Coupled Plasma-Atomic Emission Spectra using standard operating conditions. The batch had two duplicates, one blank and two standards. The anomalous sample was rerun and matched the expected value. The detection limit and analytical range are element specific. From a QA/QC perspective, the review of results suggests this is a satisfactory and reliable data set.
PRIVATE PLACEMENT
Coltstar announces a non-brokered private placement of up to 6 million units at a price of $0.35 per unit. Each unit will consist of one common share and one-quarter of a share purchase warrant. Each whole warrant will entitle the investor to purchase an additional common share at a price of $0.50 per share for 12 months after closing.
OTHER DEVELOPMENTS
In addition to continuing work on its Torniella Property, Coltstar is seeking to expand its portfolio of properties by applying for certain mineral licences elsewhere in the world. To date, Coltstar has been granted certain non-material iron ore licences, and is applying for additional iron ore and potash licences. Coltstar will provide a further update if it is successful in obtaining these licences.
